On January 2nd 1985 the first HMMWV, pronounced Humvee rolled off the assembly line. This indestructible machine was exclusively made for the US military. Just like anything that is great and amazing the US military got a hold of it first. But by 1992 the first Civilian Humvee was born and was produced by General Motors. General Motors came up with the name Hummer. They decided to name this ultimate all 4 wheel drive the Hummer H1. The first person to ever get their hands on one of these Hummer H1’s is no one other than California’s Governor Arnold “The Governator” Schwarzenegger. This really blew up the Hummer more than they could have imagined. With having the “Terminator” himself hitting corners in a Hummer H1 on the streets of LA, a trend had been started. So much so that Hummer slowly moved into the Hummer H2 and Hummer H3. The H2 and H3 have been more used as PIMP my ride, look at me rig, so it will always get your attention.
